Advisement for the certificate program is available from the Leadership and Literacy Studies  Department.

The Post-Master’s Certificate in Educational Leadership (PMC-EDLD) is a professional program requiring 18 credit hours beyond the master’s degree, in accordance with Maryland regulations. The program is a Maryland-approved administrator preparation program leading to Advanced Licensure and prepares educational leaders for administrative and supervisory roles. Completion of the program qualifies candidates for endorsement as Supervisor of Instruction, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Upon completion, it is the candidate’s responsibility to apply for endorsement through the Maryland State Department of Education’s The Educator Application and Credentialing Hub (TEACH). Be aware that it is the responsibility of the candidate to understand and fulfill all state requirements as licensure regulations may be changed by the State of Maryland. The curriculum integrates theory and practice to support the development of effective school and district administrators. Candidates in states other than Maryland should consult with their state Department of Education to determine specific certification requirements.
