Earth Science, B.S. General Track Curriculum Guide  (Suggested 4-Year Plan of Study)

The General Earth Science Track is designed for students who wish to complete a traditional liberal arts major in earth science. This focus provides maximum flexibility in developing an individualized program, in consultation with a faculty advisor.

  • All courses applied to the major must be completed with grades of C or better.

  • The Geography and Geosciences  Department recommends that the lower-division core courses (GEOG 201 , GEOG 204 , GEOG 219  and GEOL 103 ) be completed prior to GEOG 414 .

  • Transfer students must complete a minimum of 15 semester hours with grades of C or better in geology/geography at Salisbury University, at least 12 semester hours of which must be at the 300/400 level.

  • Earth science majors seeking certification for teaching in secondary school must meet additional requirements in education - see Earth Science, B.S. Secondary Education Concentration . Students pursuing secondary teaching certification should contact the Secondary and Physical Education  Department for advisement early in their program.

Checklist

This checklist is an unofficial tool for planning. Matriculated students and advisors should consult the Academic Requirements Report in GullNet before and after registering for classes each semester to track academic progress.
