MUSC 201 - Introduction to Music Theory

Principles of music construction based on a historical perspective of music theory in Western culture. Emphasis on the nature of modes and/or tonal centers and the organization of melody, harmony and voice leading utilizing basic elements of keys, scales, chords, notation and ear training.
Three hours per week with enhancement.
Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC.
