HIST 314 - African-American History to 1865 4 Hour(s) Credit Explores African-American history from the Colonial period to 1865. Highlights the development and perpetuation of slavery, the vibrancy of free black communities, the rise of antislavery leaders and movements, and social conditions experienced by African Americans. Three hours per week with enhancement. Meets General Education IIB. Prerequisites Sophomore standing or permission of instructor. May Not Receive Credit for Both HIST 444 and HIST 314
