ART 329 - Alternative Processes in Photography

Gain an introduction to 19th century photographic processes with a 21st century flair through alternative and experimental photographic techniques. Processes may include cyanotype, pinhole, gum bichromate, mordancage, vandyke brown, ziatype (palladium), lumens, salt printing, and wet plate collodion with special emphasis placed on sustainable art-making practices and environmental consciousness through use of natural, organic, and repurposed materials and techniques. Learn through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, lab work, and critique.
Six hours per week.

Major Prerequisites ART 121 ART 130 ,  ART 202  or ART 203  and  ART 129  or ART 229  
Non-Major Prerequisites ART 129  or ART 229
