PHED 230 - Introduction to Adapted Physical Education

Designed for pre-professional physical education teacher education students and related areas of study students who plan to work with children with disabilities. Acquire introductory knowledge and skills to better meet the educational needs of children with disabilities in their physical education settings and create inclusive and equitable learning experiences as outlined by the most current legislation. Explore beginning frameworks and concepts for creating specially designed physical education instruction for students with disabilities. Develop an understanding of disabilities and apply that knowledge in physical education and additional physical activity settings.
