PHED 400 - Adapted Physical Education

Designed for physical education teacher preparation students who are preparing to enter the teaching field in K-12 education. Explore the many facets of adapted physical education for individuals with disabilities. As physical education is federally mandated for all students within the public school systems, it is essential that students with disabilities experience physical education specially designed with their needs in mind. Gain the knowledge and skills that will enable teachers to better meet the educational needs of students with disabilities in their physical education settings in order to create inclusive and equitable learning experiences as outlined by the most current legislation.
Three hours lecture, two hours laboratory per week
