FREN 317 - Around the Francophone World in 200 Years 4 Hour(s) Credit Through a journey across the French-speaking world since the French and Haitian revolutions, focus on the analysis of cultural artifacts and texts that represent the diversity of the Francophone world. Includes class discussions on cultures independent from the French hegemony and assignments that enable students to acquire a good understanding of the roots of contemporary (post)colonial cultures, to discuss key events and artistic movements, and to question the notion of “Francophony.” Taught in French.
