CHEM 222 - Organic Chemistry II 4 Hour(s) Credit A continued introduction to the structure, properties and reactivity of carbon compounds. A range of chemical reactions are applied to the development of synthetic methods for organic molecule construction, including functional group interconversion and carbon-carbon bond formation. Spectroscopic techniques for molecule identification also are discussed. Emphasis is placed on problem solving, effective communication and integration of chemical concepts. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory per week. Prerequisites C or better in CHEM 221 .
