Complete 14 courses in theatre, 8 core and 5 track courses

Complete 5 THEA courses at the 300/400 level.

Complete all THEA courses with a C or better.

Complete the requirements of a minor. The required minor is waived if the student declares a “double” major.

Transfer students majoring in theatre must complete a minimum of 5 THEA courses at SU, including THEA 499 .

Complete 100-/200-level courses first in order to meet the prerequisites for 300-/400-level courses.

THEA courses that are not listed in the core or tracks can be taken as additional Electives or, if applicable, as 300-/400-level courses.

Independent Study is for advanced study by motivated students who have exhausted the range of regular course offerings. Prerequisites: junior standing; 3.0 major GPA; and proposal.

Internship applies acquired knowledge and skills in a professional theatre setting. Prerequisites: completion of the major core; junior standing; 3.0 major GPA; and proposal.

The proposals for Independent Study and Internship are due in the department office one semester in advance during advising/program planning. See details on the Theatre Program website.

Demonstrate 102-level proficiency in a foreign language (see Appendices , Appendix E).

University Undergraduate Major Policies
- Refer to the program page for this major and the Courses section of this catalog for approved prerequisites and General Education courses.
- Requirements may not equal 120 credit hours. Students must register for additional electives to complete 120 credits required for graduation.
- All graduates must have a minimum of 30 credits of 300/400-level courses with C grade or above; at least 15 of those credits must be taken at SU.
- Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for graduation.
- Students must complete at least 30 credit hours by direct classroom instruction and/or laboratory experience.
- Students must take 30 of the last 37 credit hours at SU.
- It is the student’s responsibility to satisfy graduation requirements. Please refer to the program page of this catalog for detailed major requirements.
- Students must apply online for graduation by November 15 for May and by May 15 for December.
