Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, B.S. Chemistry Focus Curriculum Guide (Suggested 4-Year Plan of Study)
As an enhancement of the core Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, B.S. General Focus program, the chemistry focus is designed to give students more breadth of experience in chemical topics that relate to biochemical systems and methods.
The Chemistry Department offers a program leading to a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology for students interested in careers related to biochemistry and molecular biology, such as biomedical research, pharmaceutical research, genetic research and other careers in the biotech industry. Students majoring in this program are eligible to take the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) degree certification exam.
- The Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology requires at least 120 credits for graduation.
- Biochemistry and molecular biology majors must have at least a C average in the math and science courses required by the major.
- Transfer students majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology must complete at least 15 hours of biochemistry and molecular biology courses at Salisbury University.
