Advisement for the minor is available from the Communication Department.

The minor in media production is designed to give students majoring in any discipline foundational skills in media-making as a supplement to their primary career field. The program allows students to develop a deeper understanding of media and media production, giving them the skills needed to create content for a variety of media platforms.

  • Students must complete at least 18 credit hours, including 4 core courses and 1 elective.
  • All minor courses must be completed with a C or better.
  • Students majoring in communication must complete a minor outside of the Communication Department. The media production minor does not satisfy that requirement for communication majors.

This checklist is an unofficial tool for planning. Matriculated students and advisors should consult the Academic Requirements Report in GullNet before and after registering for classes each semester to track academic progress.
