FREN 323 - French Culture, History and Society Through Cinema 4 Hour(s) Credit Use films as a springboard to examine anthropological, sociopolitical and historical characteristics of France. Discussions focus on such topics as education and secularism, unemployment and mental health, homophobia, and the concept of French humor. Explore contemporary issues relevant to French-speaking areas, including the impact and aftermath of colonization on the identity and culture of France’s former colonies. Taught in French.
