PHIL 327 - Public Philosophy

Apply philosophy to real-world projects, experiences, and scholarly activities. While philosophy can be perceived as an abstract academic discipline, there is a long tradition of philosophers engaging with the public in a variety of forms, such as public debates on ethics, community-based philosophical activities, and editorials, podcasts, or other media. Complete a civic and community engagement component that culminates in the production of a supervised project or placement and the presentation of this project to a panel of experts. possibly a mix of current faculty and practitioners from the community itself.
