ART 386 - Stop-Motion Animation

4 Hour(s) Credit
Gain an introduction to the art and craft of stop-motion animation through hands-on exploration of drawing, sculpting, sound, design, photography, and video. Combining traditional art practices with new media tools, create original animated films using professional-grade equipment and Dragonframe software - the same program used by studios such as Disney (Frankenweenie) and Aardman Animations (Shaun the Sheep). Projects emphasize storytelling, collaboration, and sound design while drawing inspiration from pioneers of experimental and narrative animation. Through techniques such as pixilation, claymation, and object animation, learn to bring inanimate materials to life.
