ART 385 - 3D Modeling and Animation

Gain an introduction to the creative and technical processes of building and animating three-dimensional digital worlds. Through the historical lens of Utopian and Dystopian literature, film, art, and architecture, design and animate imaginative environments, characters, and narratives in virtual 3D space. Emphasizing modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering, explore animation as both artistic expression and storytelling. Gain hands-on experience with industry software such as Cinema 4D, Blender, and Unreal Engine, and experiment with emerging technologies including virtual reality headsets and 360° cameras.
