CADR 288 - Conflict of Abortion and Reproductive Justice 4 Hour(s) Credit Explore the complex conflict surrounding abortion and reproductive justice within a framework of diversity and inclusion. Study the historical, legal, social, ethical, and public health aspects of the topic, analyzing how race, class, gender, and other intersecting identities shape experiences and access to care. Utilizing interdisciplinary perspectives, including feminist theory and anti-oppressive social work practice, engage in critical thinking and examine various viewpoints and value systems involved. Through readings, discussions, and possibly community-based projects, build skills to engage in meaningful and respectful dialogue about social issues and assess how policies and practices affect different communities. Engage in activities to foster empathy, understanding, and a dedication to promoting social justice in a democratic society and interconnected world, aligning with Salisbury University’s mission to empower students as active citizens and lifelong learners.
