HIST 224 - Hitler and the Third Reich 4 Hour(s) Credit A survey of the origins, history, and significance of Nazi Germany (1933-1945). Major topics include the general background of Nazism, the challenges faced by the post-World War I Weimar Republic (1918-1933), the Nazi capture of power, the creation of a racial state, daily life under dictatorship, the pursuit of World War II, the systematic genocide of European Jews, and the destruction and legacy of the Third Reich.
