HIST 220 - Native Americans and Film

Explores representations of Native American peoples, histories and cultures in cinema. Critically examines patterns of colonization and resistance to colonialism through the study of films and texts by non-Indigenous and Indigenous creators. Addresses past and modern consequences of misrepresentation and erasure for Indigenous communities and how to address these issues.
