SCED 381 - Specialized Education for Students Requiring Intensive Supports

Future special education teachers develop the skills and knowledge necessary to support students with significant, severe and low-incidence disabilities. Explore critical topics, including understanding diverse learning needs, implementing effective instructional strategies, and collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams. Engage in lectures, discussions, case studies and hands-on activities to prepare for creating inclusive and supportive learning environments. Aligns with the Council for Exceptional Children’s Initial Special Education Preparation Standards.
Three hours per week
Prerequisites Previous enrollment in the Special Education Teaching Minor Program, SCED 367/ELED 320 highly recommended
