CADR 205 - Conflict Resolution in Diverse Schools

4 Hour(s) Credit
By presenting the school environment as a microcosm of society, where a set of a battery of cultures interact or mingle, this course advocates for the mindfulness of cultural diversity in our schools (from kindergarten through 12th grade). Focus on issues of cultural diversity and inclusion, marginalization, bullying and roommate conflict from the perspective of conflict resolution. Articulate strategies for creating a safe and peaceful school environment. Gain a foundational knowledge in conflict resolution in a culturally diverse environment for all students and help respond to the needs of students who are interested in working in the school environment. The orientation of the course is dynamic, taking into account recent developments in the local, national, regional and world affairs. Adequate case studies in order to blend theory and practice are provided.
