PACE 250 - Nonprofit Fundraising and Volunteer Management

Gain an overview of two main topics in nonprofit management. Aimed for those who plan to relate to nonprofits on boards, as volunteers, as fundraisers and as staff. The first half introduces ethical fundraising, the distinctive qualities and tradition of American philanthropy, and exploring the roles and responsibilities of professional fundraisers and staff member in nonprofit organizations. The second half introduces volunteerism in both nonprofit and public organizations as human resource development. Readings, case studies, guest speakers and student projects are included.
