SOWK 640 - Field Instruction I 3 Hour(s) Credit The first of a two-semester sequence of supervised experience in the delivery of social services where students are required to participate in an agency-based field practicum for two days a week under the supervision of an agency-based M.S.W. field instructor. Successful completion of the two-course sequence requires a student to fulfill a minimum of 440 hours of field instruction within the same social welfare agency accumulated across the two semesters. Two working days per week. Prerequisites Admission to M.S.W. Program Pre or Corequisites SOWK 620 or Permission of M.S.W. Program Director. A seminar with small group discussions on field experiences with related written assignments and activities conducted concurrently.
