POSC 470 - Race and Social Justice

Examine race, oppression and social justice. Study each topic from an interdisciplinary perspective, centering the historical, sociological and political exploration of race. Deepen your understanding of racial and ethnic identity, intergroup relations, discrimination, racism, immigration, and social movements. Racism in America influences politics, policy and social outcomes. Explore these intersections, including the historical development and political implications of abolition, liberation and other resistance movements fighting for social justice in America.

Prerequisites C or better in POSC 101  or POSC 103  or POSC 110 , junior standing and above, or permission of instructor.
