MKTG 341 - Marketing for Non-Profit and Public Sector Organizations 3 Hour(s) Credit Learn about comprehensive marketing, fundraising and branding concepts for nonprofit and public-sector organizations, including understanding the marketing mix for nonprofit and public sector organizations (the product or cause, the price or societal value; the promotion or stakeholder communications, and the place or stakeholder outreach); conducting market/marketing Research for actual nonprofit and public sector organizations (experiential); understanding segmentation, targeting and Positioning concepts as they apply to nonprofit and public sector organizations; developing stakeholder communications campaigns for actual nonprofit and public sector organizations, including advertising, promotions, digital marketing, social media utilization, etc.; understanding key fundraising and other revenue generation strategies including “The Ask”; understanding branding for nonprofit and public sector organizations; conducting marketing audits for actual nonprofit and public sector organizations (experiential); and developing marketing plans for actual nonprofit and public sector organizations (experiential). Hear from key nonprofit and public sector organization leaders and work with actual nonprofit organizations to conduct marketing audits and develop marketing plans for them, including strategy development and creating print/digital media samples, etc. The course can be used toward achieving Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) designation. Two hours and 45 minutes per week class time. Students are expected to spend additional out-of-class time to work on their projects.
