FYS SPN01 - Cultural Crossroads in Spain: Exploring Interculturality in Málaga

Through a study abroad experience in Málaga, become immersed in the diverse cultural landscape of Spain’s southern region, where experiential learning takes center stage and intercultural exploration becomes a way of life. Undertake a comprehensive exploration of Spain’s cultural tapestry, with a particular emphasis on understanding how Latin American different cultures interact and shape contemporary Spain. Through interactive discussions, reflective assignments and collaborative projects, critically analyze the dynamics of cultural exchange. By examining historical contexts and contemporary intercultural interactions, develop essential skills for effective communication and mutual respect in a globalized world. Venture beyond the confines of the classroom to engage directly with Málaga’s cultural scene. Guided tours, site visits and interactions with local communities provide hands-on experiences that foster deep understanding and personal growth. 
15 hours per week for four weeks
Meets General Education: First Year Seminar (FYS)
May Not Receive Credit for Both if a second FYS is taken. Taking a second FYS will replace the original FYS grade, regardless of topic.
