ENGL 357 - British Literature II: 1800-Present 4 Hour(s) Credit Survey of British literature from the late 18th century to the present day. Readings may include, but are not limited to, Haywood, Austen, Wordsworth, Keats, the Brontës, Woolf, Ishiguro and Zadie Smith. Includes background on major literary movements, including Romanticism and Modernism, plus context for historical developments such as industrialization, the world wars, and especially the rise and fall of the British Empire. Poetry and fiction included. Three hours per week with enhancement Meets General Education: Human Expression (HE) Met General Education Prior to Fall 2024: IB Prerequisites C or better in ENGL 103
