ENGL 348 - Nature in Literature


4 Hour(s) Credit
A detailed study of attitudes toward and representations of the environment in literature, especially of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. This course equips students with a rigorous understanding of environmental sustainability and cultural and ethical perspectives on environmental sustainability. Topics may include indigenous environmental justice, Romanticism, Transcendentalism, climate fiction, the anthropocene in science and literature, and improving human/nature relations.
Three hours per week with enhancement.

Met General Education Prior to Fall 2024: IB
Prerequisites C or better in ENGL 103
